A family history blog with genealogy links, resources, ancestors, and related topics.
Welcome to my family history blog. Finding more about my family's history is very rewarding as well as being interesting and educational.
I created this blog to share my thoughts, experiences, tips and resources in my search for my ancestors' history and maybe, help you in your research as well. I am particularly interested in the history of Upper Canada and the Loyalist period in history.
About Me
My name is Earline Hines Bradt and I was born at the end of the baby boom in Essex County, Ontario, Canada and have lived here all my life. I am the second oldest of seven and the oldest of four girls. I attended Essex District Secondary School and St. Clair College.
I have two sons by my first marriage and I have been married, for the second time, since 2001. I have five grandchildren, the youngest comes to spend a couple of mornings a week with me when he doesn’t have school.
I am interested in my family history and blogging but have a diversity of other interests such as gardening, sewing, baking, antiques, collecting, fishing, camping, painting and decorating, playing darts and cards and I’m learning to shoot pool.
My husband and I go camping at Emily Provincial Park every summer at the start of bass season, I’ve enjoyed fishing all of my life and my husband has grown to love it as well.
I have a cat, Cloie, who is going to be 12 this summer, and two dogs, Cinnamon, a 5 yr. old Pointer/Golden Retriever mix and Angus, a 3 year old Black/Yellow Lab mix. I also have a reef aquarium with a Convict Blennie and a couple of Hermit crabs.
My husband and I are new members of the Bicentennial Branch of the United Empire Loyalits Association of Canada – UELAC and are both descended from Loyalist families from New York who served in Butler’s Rangers and settled in the Niagara region.
I am on Twitter and Facebook and my personal website is My Favourites Place.
