Welcome to my family history blog. Finding more about my family's history is very rewarding as well as being interesting and educational.
I created this blog to share my thoughts, experiences, tips and resources in my search for my ancestors' history and maybe, help you in your research as well. I am particularly interested in the history of Upper Canada and the Loyalist period in history.

Sarah Will Rest In Peace, Thank You Fort Erie!

The local government approved a staff report on Tuesday night to amend the 2010 operating budget and pull $60,000 from the emergency management reserve fund to the cemeteries operating budget.

The town of Fort Erie will be contibuting $60,000 towards the investigation and re-interrment of the remains of the ten people unearthed at Point Albino last month. The Ontario Cemeteries Act provides the registrar with the authority to order the investigation of the site to be conducted by a licensed archaeologist. The registrar then makes a declaration about the nature of the site and orders the landowner to work with representatives of those buried in the site to enter into a disposition agreement, whereby the remains can be re-intered into a cemetery.
