Welcome to my family history blog. Finding more about my family's history is very rewarding as well as being interesting and educational.
I created this blog to share my thoughts, experiences, tips and resources in my search for my ancestors' history and maybe, help you in your research as well. I am particularly interested in the history of Upper Canada and the Loyalist period in history.

Lately I've Been Relatively Busy

I just thought I'd let my readers know what I've been doing lately that has my time consumed, I've been working on my pages at WeRelate

I have been reading Randy Seaver's series of posts about the site at Genea-musings and decided to join. I uploaded my Gedcom file a couple of days ago. I thought it would be a simple process, I was wrong. My Gedcom had some problems that my RM4 program didn't find. I had to review it and match some 200 People and Family pages that were already created by others. Then, I had to match all of the places to Places pages on the site. Finally, I matched my sources to Source pages already created.

Finally my Gedcom was uploaded and the matching and merging of duplicate pages started again, but at least I have some help from the volunteers now.

I have started adding my documents and images to the pages and I think that I will be doing that for a while, I have at least 6 GB of images I have gathered. I am planning on working on one family a day, I have 288 family pages so it should keep me busy for a while.

I am really excited about making more connections and finding new cousins. I am going to post a link on my Facebook profile so other family members can add information and images to it. I think that it is well worth the time and effort to have a site with the most accurate information and sources about our ancestors in one place.
