Hey, it's Saturday Night (again), time for some Genealogy Fun with Randy Seaver at Genea-musings!
Your mission, if you decide to accept it, is to:
1) Think of any number of genealogy events or moments that make you have a genealogy happy dance, an ah-ha moment, or a genea-gasm.
2) Tell us about them in a blog post, in a comment to this blog post, or in a comment on Facebook.
My first happy dance was when I discovered that my surname had been changed by my great-grandfather and I finally found his family in the Niagara Twp. 1851 census. Before that I was starting to think he was an only child.
My second happy dance was when I discovered that my Haines ancestors were loyalists who were in the Butler's Rangers.
My third happy dance was when I found my immigrant ancestors in the Plymouth Colony records kept by Wiliam Bradford.
My fourth happy dance was when I visited Doan's Ridge Cemetery where the first Doans in Upper Canada are buried.
My fifth happy dance was when I visited Niagara-on-the-lake, and Fort George where my loyalist ancestors lived when they first came to Upper Canada.
My sixth happy dance was when I discovered my French-Canadian ancestors back to the early 1600's in the Drouin Collection.
That was my first year, I could go on and on...

A family history blog with genealogy links, resources, ancestors, and related topics.
Welcome to my family history blog. Finding more about my family's history is very rewarding as well as being interesting and educational.
I created this blog to share my thoughts, experiences, tips and resources in my search for my ancestors' history and maybe, help you in your research as well. I am particularly interested in the history of Upper Canada and the Loyalist period in history.
