Welcome to my family history blog. Finding more about my family's history is very rewarding as well as being interesting and educational.
I created this blog to share my thoughts, experiences, tips and resources in my search for my ancestors' history and maybe, help you in your research as well. I am particularly interested in the history of Upper Canada and the Loyalist period in history.

Smile For The Camera - All Creatures Great and Small

This is a picture of my brothers, sister and me with our collie, Bob. Dad used to always say that Bob was the smartest dog he ever saw. We didn`t need a dog door, he could open the screen door with his paw and let himself in and out of the house!

  2. This is the third "farm" story I've seen so far in "All Creatures Great and Small". Amazing how many of our families have rural backgrounds.

  3. We got a collie when I was in Junior High. She was a wonderful dog with some unusual characteristics. She was incredibly submissive (yes, she peed on the floor every time someone came over). We were able to teach her the boundaries of our front yard. She would walk end to end off leash and never once cross over into a neighbors yard.

She was not allowed on the furniture. She learned this trick. She would back up and put only her butt on the couch, with 3 legs on the grounds. She got away with it because it was so funny!

    Thanks for sharing!
